They range from the physics and chemistry of simple molecular systems to more complex materials such as strongly correlated materials like high temperature superconductors under extreme pressures or as geophysical relevant materials focusing on their chemistry and transformations in deep earth conditions. The main investigation techniques are optical spectroscopy (Raman and infrared spectroscopies) and advanced synchrotron techniques (XRD, XAS and IXS) applied to samples under extreme conditions in the diamond anvil cell also in combination  with  cryostats, resistive and laser heating setups.
